I use multiple programs for editing as well. seems it was acquired by a 3rd party and they're figuring out next steps. right now that company is in limbo or something. it's all based on writing scripts and is totally stupid and confusing for just simple edits. they know about the bug but never fixed it before coming out w/triumph which to me is just a horrible piece of useless crap. so it's necessary to do the same process twice. if i remember correctly, it never goes all the way to the edge of the sample until you zoom way in. Wave edit bug is related to trimming the ends and fades. i haven't done any real intense editing of samples since i made my last library. i wish quattro had a "simple mode" or something. In fact, I use like 5 or 6 different audio editors currently because no single one is a complete solution. I also have and use Audiofile Wave Editor. I’m hoping he remedies this in the future, cause I love me some DSP Quattro I cant just double click on a sample (or group of samples), do my thing, save, and move on with life quickly and easily like in v4.4. But the change in focus has made v5 DSP Quattro much harder to use for basic editing duties. It’s definitely very nice looking and modern. I regularly edit 200-300 or more drum samples in a sitting. Yes, but for actual “audio editing” of samples v5 is much more difficult now because it forces you to create a project when opening an audio file. you have to set up for it instead of the default which is a mastering session. there's just an extra layer to get to basic simple file editing. it wouldn't overlap w/what the new thing (Triumph) does at all.Įdit: looks like the company is in transitionĪlso, DSP Quattro new version is good. it's not even a relevant product/follow up to waveedit imo. the thing they replaced with is just awful imo. it has one bug that drives me crazy and added up to more work. i still have a copy on the HD somewhere but haven't used it in a while. The new version has more layers and is more angled to mastering.Īudiofile Engineering wave edit was great. V4.4 is still much quicker.Īnd yes, it’s rough going nowadays trying to find a decent audio editor I think he kind of kill it with the new version. You might as well give audacity a shot and see if it meets all your needs.ĭSP Quattro here too, but the older v4.4. some editors went heavily towards mastering and as a result become cluttered and clunky for basic quick editing. There's no one solution for all the audio editing tasks these days. Ignatius wrote: i also use DSP Quattro still.
